Nitish has always been enterprising and started coding games at the mere age of 7. He setup his own Bulletin Board Service at the age of 14 and then founded Nazara Technologies by the age of 19.
Nitish has served as the chairman of the Mobile Value Added Services Expert Committee (2009-2010) of the Indian Merchants Chambers, an organization set up to promote trade, commerce and industry among Indian entrepreneurs. He has also served on the Asia board of the MEF (Mobile Ecosystem Forum), a global association for mobile content and commerce. He has also been widely recognized for his contribution to the gaming and digital entertainment industry internationally. Nitish has also been recently graced with ‘Business World Disrupt 40 under 40 achievers awards’ and had also been selected for the Fortune India ‘40 under 40’ 2019.
Under his leadership, Nazara received its initial investment from West Bridge Capital. The company recently raised 80 Million USD from IIFL Special Opportunities Fund; Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Turtle Entertainment GmbH, the IP owner of the world’s largest esports franchise (ESL).
When not at work, Nitish likes to relax and play a range of wood-wind instruments such as the clarinet, soprano saxophone, and flute. Being a jazz music aficionado, Nitish plays an alto saxophone and is a part of a jazz band called Jazzy Joe and Jazz Junkies that performs in many of Mumbai’s clubs and pubs. He is also a Level 2 practioner of Israeli martial art, Krav Maga.
