Bahar Kumar is the Director of Nepal Communitere which is a dynamic community-based innovation hub that supports bold changemakers into converting their ideas to success. She is the lead on Nepal Communitere’s holistic I-Cube Business Incubation Program providing practical business trainings, coaching and mentoring through a one year cohort-based program. Nepal Communitere also hosts the Kathmandu Humanitarian MakerFaire (KMMF) and the American Arts Incubator show casing the social impact of innovation and the arts. Bahar is passionate about empowering committed entrepreneurs and visionaries with approaches such as human-centered design as a problem-solving tool to deeply understand their communities’ needs and design innovative and relevant solutions. She has a dual Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in International Development and Psychology, has studied at Delhi University Master’s School of Social Work and has a Master’s in Reproductive Health from Columbia University in New York. With over 20 years of International Development, Public Health, Capacity-Building and Professional Coaching experience, Bahar helps build programs and projects for meaningful impact. She believes in bringing out the best potential in people and has a heart for coaching others. She has a no nonsense, roll up your sleeves approach, is process oriented, and thrives in developing teams for success and impact. She is rooted to Nepal, is a Newari buhari and the mother of two amazing children.
